Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spiky blonde hair and a bubbly personality, reveals simple methods to master and removes the fear of eating at restaurants on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York restaurants, has studied Italian food, its culture and traditions, and participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. She pursued her passion for working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I was awed by every moment." I could not study or accomplish enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian way of life and its culture which has had an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists children with obstacles. As a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the United States to discuss her love for cooking and profession. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of her life, cooking with others.
