Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English model, actress director, activist, and actress. Her most well-known work is her role in the role of Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.Born in London, Wright made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) in which she played the role for ten years before the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011). After the film, Wright appeared in a string of independent films, which included Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013) as well as After the Dark (2014) which received mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut with Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012 she graduated from University of the Arts London with a degree in filmmaking. She subsequently founded her own production firm, BonBonLumiere, and began producing short films. Her first film she directed was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). This film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to high critical acclaim. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films focused on emotion and landscape as themes. Wright's three-part series, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. The film was released in Medusa's Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs in a film which is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright has been a spokesperson for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
