Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan (born March 23 1976) is an American actress. Her most well-known work includes her starring roles in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Eagle Eye (2008), Trucker (2008), Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015), and Patriots Day (2016). She played Julia Meade, the main character in Mission: Impossible's action-spy series Mission: Impossible (2006), Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011), Mission: Impossible Fallout (2018) has been praised. Monaghan also starred in True Detective's first season (2014) in the first season of True Detective as Maggie Hart. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award, Best Supporting Actress. In the drama series The Path (2016), she played the character of Sarah Lane. Monaghan starred as Eva Geller in the 2020 Netflix thriller series Messiah which was cancelled after a single season. Monaghan was the daughter of Sharon Hammel and Robert Monaghan (a factory worker) and was born in Winthrop, Iowa. Bob and John are her brothers older than her. Monaghan is from Irish and German origin, was raised Catholic and graduated East Buchanan High School 1994. After graduation, Monaghan relocated to Chicago to pursue journalism studies and later began modeling. Modeled in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as in the United States. With one semester remaining to complete her journalism education in 1999, she made the move to New York to pursue an acting career. Her first role was model. Monaghan was featured in two TV roles, including a support role in Young Americans' episodes in 2000. In "Consent" Monaghan portrayed the character of Caroline Busse. She also appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the episode. On January 19, 2001, she was a part of the cast in "Consent". That year, her big screen debut was in Perfume in the role of Henrietta. Her next film, again as a supporting character made it to the screen in 2002 with Unfaithful with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
