Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi was conceived in Chennai, India on September 1 1970. Her parents divorced after she turned just 2 years old. Her mother fled India to escape the stigma associated with divorce in India and moved to the United States. Lakshmi stayed with her maternal grandparents in Chennai two years before moving to the United States. Her parents later remarried, and she also has a younger half-brother as well as a half-sister on the father's side. Lakshmi is the descendant of Hindu goddess of prosperity and wealth, and she grew up in New York City and Los Angeles. She visited her family in India several times a year, and then returned for several months. Padma Lakshmi began to be interested in acting in 1999. She first appeared in the film "Figlio of Sandokan" which was which was an Italian pirate movie. Then, she played a role in 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers), a drama about pirates of the 17th century. In 2001, she played a comedy supporting role as the disco singer in  the film 'Glitter.' Padma has a daughter named Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell, who is married to Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was born on the 20th of February 2010. Teddy Forstmann, who was the CEO and ex-chairman of IMG and is also her partner. Lakshmi and American venture capitalist Adam Dell have a daughter, Krishna. Lakshmi later revealed that the baby's father was Dell, although she initially kept his identity from the public. The girl said to her daughter, "Everything is better when she's there." "Anything that happens between the beginning of the day to the end. I can't concentrate on anything else.
