Julia Karin Ormond Bio

Julia Karin Ormond was born on the 4th of January, 1965. Her fame was boosted with her appearances in The Baby of Macon (1993), Legends of the Fall (1994), First Knight (1995), Sabrina (1995), Smilla's Sense of Snow (1997) and The Barber of Siberia (1998). In her role in the role of Temple Grandin (2010) the actress was awarded an Emmy Award in the Miniseries or Movie category. She also has a name for her part in The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020) as a principal antagonist. Ormond was born in Epsom, Surrey, the daughter of Josephine an engineer and John Ormond, a stockbroker. She is the second of five children to her parents. After having attended Guildford High School and Cranleigh School, she attended independent schools. Her early performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted the attention of many. After a year in arts school, she was transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art which she attended until 1988. Ormond first made an appearance on British television in the 1989 series Traffik that focused on the illegal heroin trade from the far East into the streets of Europe. Ormond was the heroin addict daughter of the main character, who was a Home Office minister who was involved in fighting heroin importation. This early role won glowing reviews.
